“Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute, and when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke and the crowds were amazed. Some of them said, ‘By the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he drives out demons.’…’If I, then, drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your own people drive them out? Therefore they will be your judges. But if it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you’.” (LK 11:14-15, 18-19)

The prophet sent him the message: ‘Go and wash seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will heal, and you will be clean.’ But Naaman went away angry, saying, ‘I thought that he would surely come out and stand there to invoke the LORD his God, and would move his hand over the spot, and thus cure the leprosy. How many of us took everything that God had to offer, and forgot about his existence. We get so busy with our daily life, happy to be promoted and kick off a new successful career, or to unexpectedly achieve a long life dream.
The story is clear about how God sent prophets to warn the people... that they were not living God's plan. Then Jesus is sent... and they killed Him because they still did not want to listen to God's Plan... They wanted it all for themselves....

“Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying, “The scribes and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the chair of Moses. Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example. For they preach but they do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens hard to carry and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they will not lift a finger to move them. All their works are performed to be seen. They widen their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels. They love places of honor at banquets, seats of honor in synagogues, greetings in marketplaces, and the salutation ‘Rabbi.’ (Mt 23:1-7)
“Stop judging” Jesus tells us, “and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and it will be given to you…..For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.” (Lk 6: 38)

If the wicked man turns away from all the sins he committed,
if he keeps all my statutes and does what is right and just,
he shall surely live, he shall not die.
None of the crimes he committed shall be remembered against him;
he shall live because of the virtue he has practiced.
Do I indeed derive any pleasure from the death of the wicked?
says the Lord GOD.

Jesus was led into the desert, the wilderness, to be alone. There he fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. And I especially love the phrase, “and afterwards he was hungry.
